Calibrate a FACTS Touchscreen

The FACTS 2001 Family Control Systems are located across the United States and the world. Use this handy guide to troubleshoot your touch screen.

If the touchscreen is working well enough to navigate through the SubMenu, the calibration can be initiated here. If not, skip down below to see Keyboard instructions.

  1. Select Submenu 1
  2. Select System Service Menu
  3. Enter password if needed.
  4. Select Touch Screen Calibration

  • Press to confirm.
  • Select Calibrate and a blue arrow pointing to the upper left corner should appear.

  • Touch the upper left corner of the screen (DO NOT TOUCH THE END OF THE ARROW).

  • The Arrow should turn red – touch the upper left corner again – the arrow should then turn blue and point to the lower right corner.
  • Touch the lower right corner of the screen (DO NOT TOUCH THE END OF THE ARROW).

  • The Arrow should turn red – touch the lower right corner again – a target symbol should appear.
  • Touch the target symbol – it should turn into “hatch” marks (or crosshairs) and be able to follow your finger when moved around on the screen.

  • Touch the exit button and the system will return to the main menu.

Via Shell Menu (Keyboard)

If the touchscreen is not working at all, a keyboard will be required to initiate the touchscreen calibration.

  1. Connect a Keyboard to the Single Board Computer Keyboard connection on the main control system.
  2. Enter the shell of the system by pressing Ctrl, Alt, Shift, and Backspace (all four keys together). A menu will appear.

  3. Enter “c” to calibrate touch screen.
  4. Press Ctrl and Tab together until the CALIBRATE button has a black dotted line surrounding the button. If the Calibrate button already has a dotted line around it skip to the next step.
  5. Press ENTER
  6. Follow the procedure described in steps # 7-12 above.
