Project Walkthrough Print E-mail

When you meet with our sales engineering staff,  you or your engineering team will define a project scope with direction from FACTS.  A discussion about your current setup, what you want to keep, what your goals are, and of course what you want to do when we hand you the keys.

After this initial discussion, FACTS sales engineers often 'walk the line', and see first hand what needs to be controlled, and find out firsthand the unique features of your line.  On behalf of FACTS, sales engineers are willing to sign reasonable non-disclosure agreements.

Note: Visits to FACTS in Cuyahoga Falls, OH are welcome!  Come by and visit with our staff, interview our project and field engineers, see our assembly and testing facilities, and learn how we keep our products from obsolescence!  Visits are welcome before and during any project.

Proposal

FACTS Inc. issues detailed proposals for our clients.   Our quotes are very defined, and specifically state exactly what you will receive, and how it will be connected to your line equipment.

Design and Build

Upon customer order, FACTS assigns a project engineer to your project.  This PE meets with your sales engineer for project turnover and kickoff.  The project engineer, other suppliers, and you the customer  define the detailed action plan.  Specific hardware and enclosures are ordered, and the panel builder team reviews the project.  Depending on project complexity, your PE will visit you to review the project and establish the interface design and HMI requirements.

IMPORTANT: The project engineer remains in touch with everyone involved to assure that needed revisions are incorporated into the system and that the system's expectations aren't compromised by other suppliers.

System Checkout

Our field service engineers also monitor the process and the production of your system.  They often act as an additional customer stakeholder in this process.  The system is thoroughly reviewed, checked out, and burned in.  Optionally, customers may visit the FACTS facility at this time to review and approve the shipment.  This is an excellent opportuity for plant staff to review and practice with the HMI, and check out the system without the distractions of in-plant day to day business.

Delivery

A delivery schedule is communicated to you early in the process- in coordination with your in-plant schedule.

Product delivered to your location include:

  • CAD System Drawings
  • Complete Software and Hardware
  • Monitor with HMI Touchscreen
  • Host computer
  • any Drives and Motors

Installation

FACTS wants your install to go as smoothly as possible- so before it even happens, CAD installation drawings are designed with wire diagrams numbered according to your provided, existing wiring diagrams.  FACTS Inc. often work with our customers' electrician staff, or preferred electrical contractor in facilitating the installation of the provided control system.  If no installer relationship is available, FACTS can source and supply a qualified installer for you.

Setup and Training

After installation is complete, our field service engineers double check and test all connections, and startup the system.   Customer personnel are thoroughly trained in the operation and troubleshooting of the system.  This often includes training of the FACTS Host system.

Completion

Your approval of the completed job is important to us and we seek your sign off of your project.  Our sales engineering staff will follow up with you after project completion to make sure that your expectations have been met.
