POSITION TITLE SALES ENGINEER
FUNCTIONAL AREA Sales and Marketing Department
POSITION REPORTS TO Sales Manager
  
BASIC FUNCTION Develop new business opportunities to achieve growth and profitability goals.
  
Duties/Essential Job Functions

 

·         Conduct marketing research to identify new business opportunities.·         Identify, qualify and contact prospects and potential customers through telemarketing and direct sales calls. ·         Travel to customer locations.·         Facilitate/manage consultative sales process, conduct sales meetings and presentations to communicate FACTS capabilities and to identify and assess customer needs.·         Work with internal engineering  (project & software engineering) to develop recommendations and solutions.  Drive process to ensure all internal parties understand project scope and customer expectations.·         Prepare and present written quotes and proposals and facilitate negotiations to close sale.  ·         Identify and attend pertinent trade shows. 
  • Conduct on-going follow-up to develop new opportunities, communicate new services and to build professional relationships.
  • Communicate sales activities with internal staff  (Sales/Mktg Dept, Engineering, etc.) and work together to address customer service issues and new sales opportunities.
  • Accountable for meeting established sales goals.
 
 
 
Equipment Used
  • PCs and associated peripheral equipment.   Microsoft applications as well as various 3rd party applications/utilities. 
  • Cellular telephone and an automobile.
  • FACTS control systems and host as installed at a customer site and a laptop for demonstrations.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Sales skills experience with knowledge of manufacturing process controls and systems applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of information technology systems and their applications in plastic and/or rubber extrusion manufacturing environments.
  • B.S.E.E. Degree and/or related education and/or experience.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation).
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with good business judgment and decision making abilities.
  • Self directed with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High energy, sales driven.
  • Ability to travel 50%.
